Alanis Morissette
Alanis Morissette, a Canadian was born on the 1st of June, 1974, in Ottawa. Alanis' Greek name is an feminine form of her father's name, Alan. Georgia is the full name of her mother and she shares two brothers: Chad Wade and Chad Wade. As a young girl she began to play the piano. And then, when she turned 21 at the age of 21, she began playing guitar. Alanis made a hit single in 1986 entitled Fate Stay With Me (b-side : Find The Right Man). As a Canadian dance-pop artist her albums include: Alanis (1991), and The Time Is The Time (1992). At the age of 18, she left NY to Toronto which is where her collaborative efforts with songwriters and musicians failed. In 1994, she finally found the right partner: writer and producer Glen Ballard, who had already worked with many performers, including Aretha Franklin Michael Jackson and Barbra Streisand. After moving to LA, she turned 19. The 13th of June, 1995 "Jagged Little Pill" was made available via Madonna's Maverick Records. Alanis had found an autobiographical, extremely personal approach to writing songs. JLP had sold over 30 million copies in the world, making it the best-selling female album of all time.
