Jill Hennessy
She is a native Edmontonian who has Irish, Italian and Swedish heritage, and also French, Ukrainian, French and Swedish. Jacqueline is her twin sister, and is an actor. While growing up, Jill became fluent in several languages, including Italian, French and Spanish. As she was 12 years old old, Jill became interested with acting. She started her career in acting in Toronto with David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers playing an escort along with their twin sisters. After studying improv with Deb Kimmet, who was a student at Second City, she began her acting career in Toronto. Two years later, she moved in New York and signed a contract to play Assistant District Attorney Claire Kincaid on the long running hit series, Law & Order. In the three years the actress was in New york and worked on several movies with a feature-length story, including RoboCop 3 (1993), Ron Howard's The Paper (1996) and I Shot Andy Warhol (1996). Her work was featured in a couple of uninteresting films in the next several years before securing as the lead in 1999's miniseries uremberg alongside Alec Baldwin. Autumn in New York followed the show, along with Exit Wounds. In 2001 she was cast in her first lead role on the NBC-TV crime series Crossing Jordan and in 2007, she won the Gracie Allen award as "Outstanding Female Leading in a Drama Series" in recognition of her performance on the show. She got married in 2000 to her co-star Paolo Mastropietro. They have two children. The couple was recognized on the Canadian Walk of Fame in 2007.
